Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operating Room Manager to lead our surgical team at a private plastic surgery center. This role is ideal for a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with leadership expertise and a strong background in operating room management, including oversight of circulating and scrubbing functions. Experience in PREOP and PACU is a plus. While experience in plastic surgery is welcome, we value candidates from all surgical specialties who bring a high standard of clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and oversee the surgical team, ensuring all OR staff are well-trained in circulating and scrubbing functions.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
- Conduct training, onboarding, and ongoing professional development for surgical staff.
- Ensure all clinical staff adhere to established policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Administrative Duties:
- Develop, implement, and monitor operating room protocols to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Manage scheduling for surgical procedures and staff assignments.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and maintenance of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory guidelines, and quality assurance measures.
Patient Care Oversight:
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and clinical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Oversee preoperative (PREOP) and postoperative (PACU) processes to support safety and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
- Minimum of 5 years of operating room experience, with a focus on leadership or management.
- Strong understanding of circulating and scrubbing practices, with the ability to train and supervise staff in these roles.
- Experience in PREOP and PACU is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
